THE ULTIMATE SCIENCE FICTION WORKSHOP!The popular 10-week writing workshop begins its new season in October of 2010, moving this year to Arlington, Massachusetts. Learn from two pros how to write and sell your SF, fantasy, and horror stories and novels!
Your instructors: Jeffrey A. Carver & Craig Shaw Gardner
Jeff and Craig have published over forty novels and forty short stories between them. Jeff is a Nebula nominee. Craig is a New York Times bestselling author. They've sold to magazines, newspapers, big New York publishers, and the small press. Their teaching experience spans the field, from Odyssey to MIT. (Learn more about Jeff and Craig.)
What
Ten 2-hour sessions of instruction and intensive workshopping of your fiction. Be prepared to write, give and take criticism, and write some more. You'll learn the craft of writing—and just as important, the art of workshopping. We'll talk about everything from writing basics and manuscript format to working with editors and agents. Online communication and manuscript sharing will be conducted via private Yahoogroup; email and Yahoo ID (simple registration) are required.

Enter through side door on Paul Revere Road. Fireplace Room is on the second floor.Please note: there are stairs, and no elevator. Next year we hope to have wheelchair access. This year, unfortunately, we don't. Apologies to anyone for whom this causes a problem.
How Much:
$425 registration fee, plus the cost of the books, purchased separately.
Books will probably run you another $30-40 (less if you buy used). Check back for word on book availability in local stores.
