I recently learned that Sunborn has been scheduled for mass market paperback release in 0110 — that is to say, January 2010. Yeah, that’s a while, yet. So, if you’ve been waiting for the paperback — oh, what the hey, you might as well spring for the hardcover now, rather than wait that long, eh? Sure, I thought so, too. 🙂

Well, after re-reading the first two novels in the series and reading the third for the first time (in e-book form, for free), I immediately went to Borders last week and picked up the hardcover of Sunborn. Well worth it. So over the course of about three weeks I've read all the installments in the Chaos Chronicles. I hadn't read your blog postings before I did so — I just ran across the e-books via Stanza on my iPhone, saw the third book which I had not read, and proceeded to download the whole set and read them (I'd read library copies of the first two before). It's generous to make them available — and I'm more than happy to do my part and buy a hardcover to speed along any future installments (which I see here you do plan) and thank you for the well crafted tales. One thing I've always liked about your writing is the way that you don't let the space operatic elements overwhelm the characters — somehow at the center of all the grand events are characters with depth and aliens with often quite different ways of looking at things. That deft combination of the interior drama and the exterior really makes these novels worthwhile. Thanks again.

What can I say, but…thank you!
