Finally, finally, accountability to the rule of law! I am amazed that the verdict came so quickly. The evidence must have been pretty damning in the jury’s eyes. A day of hope for democracy.

Greatly enjoyed your novels–less so your political commentary . . . Trump’s an ass, his behavior as a human being–as a man–sordid, there is no doubt; I wouldn’t want him as a neighbor, and I pity the poor person who works for him–especially advisors. But a more politically motivated “trial” would be difficult to find.
But the other guy is as smarmy as they come–led by the nose, no convictions, unprincipled, testing the direction of political winds to see what he needs to do or say next. Plagiarist, pragmatic, as lacking in character as his opponent.
Pox on both of them.
I see and hear more of both of these shysters than I can stand, and would appreciate not being reminded.

Hi Ed — Thanks for your reply. I disagree with almost everything you said, especially about the trial being politically motivated (a more clearcut violation of the law would be hard to find). But I appreciate your thoughtfulness in leaving it. Thanks for the good wishes.

Hi Fran. The System is corrupt. The DOJ admitted they lied about Hunter’s laptop being Russian disinformation. The state of New York changed the statute of limitations, charged Trump, then changed back. And YOU…think this is justice? Was Hillary accountable? The corrupt system just let her go, even though they said she violated the law. Biden himself lied about not knowing Hunter’s business…and you don’t care. It’s all politics and will destroy us.

I am amazed the New York STATE attorney was able to change the statute of limitations, charge Trump, then change it back. I am amazed a STATE attorney was able to make federal charges on a political opponent the Elections Committee absolved. I am amazed the judge in this case is a Democrat Party sponsor…and that he encouraged a guilty verdict on the jury. I amazed they never did give a root charge against Trump that this all stemmed from. I am amazed that Trumps Constitutional Freedom of Speech rights are being violated via “gag order”. I am amazed the DOF admitted to LYING about Hunter’s laptop being Russian disinformation to influence an election. I am amazed that SNOPES admitted Trump never said “Neo nazis are very fine people”. I am amazed the mainstream media won’t count Biden’s lies or track his real health and medications. And finally…I am TRULY amazed that Americans think prosecuting and jailing political opponents is GOOD for America. If we continue down this path America the Great Nation is truly lost.
By the way Mr. Carver…I am VERY grateful to you for answering my emails MANY years ago. Your books, correspondence and encouragement were very influential to me. One of the questions I had is how does a writer suspend the readers disbelief, i.e space ships and gravity and such. You said “just write it…if it’s good it’ll be good”. Thank you.

I don’t listen to fox news. I’ve read directly from the sources…like FBI/DoJ openly admitting they lied about the laptop and Zuckergurg openly admitted to conspiring with FBI to censure certain comments, Snopes admitting trump never said neo-nazis are good people…as Biden claims. It’s a FACT New York State attorney changed the statute of limitations in order to charge Trump. And even if not…those charges are historically misdemeanors, not felonies.
Edward Decker is right…pure politics. This is a VERY dangerous road to go down. I get people don’t like Trump, and/or don’t want him as president, but fooling with the justice system to prosecute a political opponent should not be tolerated.
As I said…I don;t watch Fox, but if they said sky is blue, and you looked out and it was indeed blue…would it matter it’s Fox? And other news outlets certainly also have their own agenda and bias.
