In 2022, I received the Helicon Awards’ Frank Herbert Lifetime Achievement Award. This was as gratifying as it was unexpected. Truthfully, it left me with my head spinning. And it put me in illustrious company with previous recipients.
In 2020, The Reefs of Time received the Gold Literary Titan Book Award, from the Literary Titan book review, saying:
“Our literary awards are given to books and authors that have astounded and amazed us with unique writing styles, vivid worlds, complex characters, and original ideas…
The Gold Award is bestowed on books that we found to be perfect in their delivery of original content, meticulous development of unique characters in an organic and striking setting, innovative plot that supports a fresh theme, and elegant prose that transforms words into beautifully written books.”
In 2023, The Reefs of Time received the Silver Reader’s Choice Award from Connections eMagazine, a publication devoted to books of all kinds. The award is based on a combination of public and judges’ votes.
And finally…
No, I didn’t win this, but in 2001 my novel Eternity’s End was nominated and was a finalist for the Nebula Award from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. Missed by a whisker!
